        SIGNS OF MENTAL ILLNESS 

The signs of mental illness may include the following :

1.Irritation and anger, with the person shouting or fighting for no obvious reason

2.Unaccustomed rudeness

3.Refusing to speak or eat

4.Neglect of appearance, perhaps not washing or working

5.Absenteeism

6.Running away from home

7.No longer talking normally, but saying strange things.

8.Distant,faraway look in the eyes

9.No longer knowing or caring where one is, or what one is doing

10.Seeing things or hearing voices that others present are not able to see or hear

11.Wanting to fight with everyone

12.Starting to drink more than usual or seeking other drug relief.


     
Each of can improve the mental health in our community by:

1.Being willing to listen (and perhaps talk) when we see people that we know having problems

2.Helping the mentally ill and seeing that they get right treatment

3.Looking after the alderly around us, especially those who might already be having difficulty remembering

4.Helping and guiding children with learning or other diffi, and by supporting their parents who may have difficulties in coping.
